Last report from Sri Lanka before I fly home in a few hours. Had a day to explore Colombo with friends and found a couple of really awesome places I’d gladly go back to. Wright @ Co, the Gallery Café, Barefoot – the store & the garden coffee shop to name just a few. Still, nothing beats @saltyswamis down at Hikkaduwa. Most definitely the gem of this trip. Celebrated March 1st away from home yet again. Plus side: got 70 humans from all over the world to make martenitsi for each other. It was glorious ⚪️🔴 Overall Sri Lanka is a weird mix between Thailand & India, but greener. Like… a lot greener. I would have loved to explore the insides of the island, take the train into the mountains, spend more time surfing the coast, and maybe go East. Alas! Need to go back to Europe for a thing. But got my “Next time in Sri Lanka” list prepped. The Sinhala script, to this day, remains at the top of my favorites list.
